James joined AREA in January 2025 after 3 years at Colliers. James has focused on the ‘Living’ sector for a number of years covering consultancy, valuation, and appraisal functions on behalf of lenders, investors, and developers. Primary focus has been on Build to Rent, Co-living, and Purpose Build Student Housing assets. 

James is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer (MRICS) and has completed the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), before which he completed a MSc degree in Real Estate at Oxford Brookes University.
