With over 15 years’ experience in the Alternative Real Estate sectors, Richard has a varied and experienced background across a number of the operational and long income asset classes. He has worked with a diverse client base of investors, developers and occupiers being involved in transactions totalling over £2bn. His extensive knowledge of the operational market has also seen him undertake strategic advice to several Institutional and Property Company clients in respect of re-gearing leases within the hotel, apart hotel, car park and student sectors.
Prior to founding AREA, Richard worked as a Director at Colliers International before moving to the market leading JLL Alternatives team. He became Head of Long Income and was involved in flagship transactions including the acquisition funding of the hub by Premier Inn hotel in St James, the disposal of the funding of the Premier Inn hotel in Hammersmith, the funding of the Dalata Maldron hotel in Manchester and the disposal of a portfolio of care homes across the east of England. Over the last few years Richard has predominantly been concentrating on development funding structures acting on behalf of Developers and Institutional Funders.
Richard is a qualified chartered surveyor (MRICS) and holds a BA (Hons) degree in Business form Leeds Beckett University and a MSc in Real Estate from London Southbank University.
